HC stays eviction of sacked NID faculty

Ahmedabad:The Gujarat High Court has stayed the eviction from campus of a faculty member recently sacked by NID,till May 3. In an affidavit filed in reply to a petition by Deepa Chalke (the sacked faculty),NID said the decision to sack her was taken after several of her colleagues complained against her,said Chalkes lawyer Mukul Sinha. Chalke had demanded she be reinstated while alleging she was sacked for filing a complaint of sexual harassment against some employees of the NID.

Fugitive Surat blast convict nabbed

Surat:Nearly three months after he jumped his parole,a convict serving a life term for his role the 1993 twin blasts in Surat was arrested from his house at Varachha on Thursday. Mustak Patel was lodged in the Vadodara jail and was granted a two-week parole on December 26,but he failed to return.
