Police Inspector RR Sarvaiya said that Makwana had brought Balani, a suspect in a loot and narcotics case for questioning who officials said hit Makwana with an iron pipe on his head and face which caused his death.

“Makwana was alone with Balani during the questioning late in the night. We don’t know yet that how and from where the pipe was brought in the room. But we suspect Balani behind the murder of Makwana. We have sent different teams behind Balani who is originally a resident of Jaipur in Rajasthan,” Sarvaiya said.

Officials said that the reason behind murdering Makwana is not known. They said that this is perhaps the first time when such an incident has taken place in the DCB office.
