Gujarat Confidential: Chintan Shibir 

The 12th edition of ‘Chintan Shibir’ of the Gujarat government will be held between November 13-15 at Shrimad Rajchandra Ashram in Valsad.

Aiming people-centric administration, the concept of Chintan Shibir was pioneered by the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi in 2003.

The 12th edition of ‘Chintan Shibir’ of the Gujarat government will be held between November 13-15 at Shrimad Rajchandra Ashram in Valsad. The state government made the announcement in this regard on Thursday. The organisation and planning of the event was finalised in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and attended by top officials of the state government including Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi. The Shibir – to be based on the theme of ‘Samuhik Chintan thi Samuhik Vikas’ (From Collective Thinking to Collective Progress) – will be attended by all the ministers and senior secretaries and bureaucrats of the state government. To be organised by the Administrative Reforms and Training Division of the state government, the Shibir will have subjects such as nutrition and public health, development and diversification of the service sector, capacity building for developed Gujarat, public safety, and environment and green energy. Various subject experts will deliver lectures during the exercise. It is also under consideration to include activities such as cycling, meditation, yoga and various sports and cultural programmes at night during the Shibir. The participants of the Shibir will be travelling in Vande Bharat train. Aiming people-centric administration, the concept of Chintan Shibir was pioneered by the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi in 2003.

Going Green

Zydus Foundation will undertake the transformation and maintenance of Khoraj public park at Gandhinagar to be known as ‘Zydus GMC Garden’, transforming it into a vibrant, eco-friendly and inclusive space that supports community wellness and promotes greener urban spaces. The transformed space covering an area of 55,000 sq m under Public Private Partnership (PPP) model will incorporate inclusive design elements such as age-wise activity zones, navigation maps in braille to help visually challenged people, involvement of botanical experts for landscaping and sourcing of native trees, a dedicated cycling track, a zen garden with yoga deck, butterfly garden with gazebos, an artificial lake with bridge and a maze garden and sculptures created by local artists to promote regional talent. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Zydus Foundation and Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) for a period of seven years.
