The respective district administrations of the border districts of Kutch, Patan and Jamnagar renewed orders imposing a black out couple of hours after revoking them following the ceasefire on Saturday. Banaskantha also announced a partial blackout in the villages on the border area on Saturday night

The orders were revoked in Kutch following Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi’s post on X announcing complete black out in the border district Saturday evening after “several drones were spotted”.

His post on X came around two hours after the Kutch district administration cancelled orders for a black out in the district for a third straight night following the ceasefire announcement. “Several drones have been spotted in the Kutch district. A complete blackout will be implemented now. Please stay safe. Don’t panic,” Sanghavi said in his post on X.

Kutch was under a black out for two nights, even as a drone was neutralised in the district on the intervening night of May 7-8. Kutch District Collector Anand Patel also announced the same in a post on X.

Following suit were the districts of Patan where the 71 villages of Santhalpur taluka went under a black out along with the entire district of Jamnagar. Superintendent of Police, Banaskantha’s X handle announced a black out in the district’s Suigam, and Vav talukas including the village of Mavsari. “All citizens have been asked to stay away from rumours and comply with the orders of the administration”, the post said. Jamnagar Collector Ketan Thakkar, who had earlier announced the blackout and shutting down of businesses, said in another video post on X that the order was cancelled and the “power supply would continue as usual”. He, however, asked the people to remain “alert and reach out to the district collectorate for any assistance”.

Within hours he re-imposed the black out in the district from 11 pm Saturday to 6 am Monday, and said in a post on X that the decision was taken “looking at the existing war-like situation”.
