A 19-year-old second-year engineering student, who was studying at MS University in Vadodara, allegedly died by suicide at his hostel on Sunday morning. A case of accidental death has been registered at Fatehganj police station.

The deceased has been identified as Abhishek Sharma, who hailed from Udhampur district of Jammu & Kashmir.

Police sub-inspector R B Baraiya said that the deceased hanged himself in the hall of the hostel when nobody was around. The incident has been captured on CCTV camera, police said.

Baraiya also said that an inquiry revealed that the deceased had failed last year and was under stress.
