G20 meeting in Gujarat: Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Ashwini Vaishnaw to attend inaugural ceremony

The inception meeting for B20, the dialogue forum with the global business community, is to be held from January 22-24 in Gandhinagar.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will participate in the opening session of Business 20 Inception Meeting to be held at Mahatma Mandir on January 23.

This will be the first of 15 B20 events that will be held in Gujarat.

B20 that represents priorities of global business was established in 2010 and is an important engagement group of G20. During the opening session, N. Chandrasekaran, Chair, B20 India and Chairman, Tata Sons, Amitabh Kant, India’s Sherpa to G20 and Anurag Jain, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India will also be in attendance.

The opening session will be followed by a Special Plenary on B20 India Priorities. This will be attended by Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman and M.D, Bajaj Finserv, Charles Rick Johnstone, Chairman, Business at OECD, Michael Froman, Vice Chairman and President, Mastercard and R.Dinesh, Executive Vice Chairman, TVS Supply Chain Solutions.
