CM postpones Surat tour due to illness

Chief Minister Narendra Modi was forced to postpone his visit to Surat on October 31 after he was reported to be indisposed on Thursday.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi was forced to postpone his visit to Surat on October 31 after he was reported to be indisposed on Thursday. After his three-day tour to Russia,Modi returned to Gandhinagar on Wednesday evening.

Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office told Newsline late this evening that Modi,after attending the weekly Cabinet meeting and some important engagements at the Sachivalaya,left for his official residence around 3.15 p.m. A team of doctors was called to check him,as “the CM is suffering from cold and cough after his Russia tour”.

About a dozen public functions were lined up in Surat for Modi,which he was scheduled to attend on October 31. “Since the CM is slightly indisposed due to some exhaustion,he has asked us to reschedule the programme of October 31,” a senior official in the CMO said.
