Claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personality is beyond Rahul Gandhi’s “comprehension”, Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Thursday said the Congress leader is currently on a “gaali yatra” in the United States.
“Rahulji himself does not have a clue about what he says. People in the country and outside know him as a ‘maskhara man’. His grandmother used to say that the Prime Minister of the country represents India to the outside world. And today, he goes overseas and abuses the country. By abusing Modiji, he is now on a gaali yatra,” Singh said at the 42th convocation of the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) in Anand.
Singh said, “Modiji is the name of such a personality who is beyond Rahulji’s comprehension… The entire world respects Modiji. This in turn increases the respect and pride of the people of the country. Apart from China and Pakistan, there is hardly any country that does not want to shake hands with Modiji. There are several others who bow their heads in respect.”
During his ongoing trip to the US, Gandhi had hit out at the Modi government, saying the construction of the new Parliament building and the installation of the ‘Sengol’ (sceptre) are attempts to divert attention from the “real issues” like unemployment and price rise. Addressing NRIs in California, Rahul took a swipe at Modi, saying the latter was among those who think they know everything and can even tell God “what is going on”. “Our Prime Minister is one such specimen,” he had said.
Giriraj also accused Gandhi of indulging in “politics of appeasement.” “At least, he remembered God (in reference to the speech made in the US). Everyday, he is into the politics of appeasement. He went to Iftaar or wore a topi (skull cap). He now wears a janev on his coat and takes the name of Brahma,” he said.
