A 16-year-old boy allegedly killed his mother at their residence in Lodheshwar Society on Thursday. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Hemlata Zarias (38) eldest son,Ajay,killed her because she used to beat him up and his four siblings over petty issues.
Hemlata succumbed to her head injuries at the Mahuram Hospital on Thursday. She was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday.
The Malaviyanagar police said that Ajay,who was beaten up by Hemlata on Tuesday evening,hit his mother on the head with a wooden stick the same night while she and his siblings were asleep.
Ajays nine-year-old sister,Divya,found her mother in a pool of blood when she woke up on Wednesday. Amrutlal,Hemlatas brother-in-law,registered a case of attempt to murder against an unidentified person.
However,Ajay broke down during interrogation and admitted to the crime. Ajays father had committed suicide four years ago.
