Tetra Pak received nine awards for manufacturing excellence from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) at its annual awards ceremony held in Kyoto.
Since they began in 1964 the JPIM Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) awards have become among the most prestigious in the manufacturing industry. The awards recognise plants which fulfil the demanding requirements of the JIPMs continuous improvement programme.
Tetra Pak Indias Takwe factory at Pune has been a proud winner of the Excellence in Consistent TPM Commitment award in 2008 from JIPM. Globally also,Tetra Paks factories and plants have received recognition from JIPM -Tetra Paks packaging material plant in Foshan,China was recognised with a TPM Special Award for outstanding lead-time reduction and delivery of consistent quality packaging material and service to customers.
The award classes are progressive,and participants cannot achieve the next class without having qualified for the preceding one. A total of 46 awards have been given to Tetra Pak since the company joined the programme in 1999.
