The latest fares being offered by SpiceJet, the beleagured airline which has just found a new boss, might remind you a bit of the grear Air Deccan days when the Indian air traveller used to be king.

In fact, a random search by our team found some really great deals on the SpiceJet.com site. A mid-March ticket from Bangalore to Chennai came for as low as Rs 875, even after the even cheaper Spice Saver ticket was sold out.
But these cheap fares are not limited to short routes. A Delhi-Mumbai flight for March 18 was available for Rs 2,131, a steal if you ask regulars on this Metro route. The regular fare on the same flight was Rs 5,775.
However, the site seems to be struggling with the amount of traffic being generated by the new discounted fares and kept crashing every now and them.
We just hope that the flights on which the cheap seats are available take to the air on the said dates and won’t be cancelled at the last minute.
