Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has launched its latest offering in the entry-level 150cc segment, the CB Unicorn 160. Aimed at the urban population aged between 25-35 years, the new motorcycle promises a good blend of new-age design, performance and fuel-efficiency. The motorcycle will be available in two variants – Standard and CBS, prices of which are Rs. 69,350 and Rs. 74,414 respectively (prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new CB Unicorn 160 is powered by a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, 163cc engine, which pumps out 14.7PS of power and 14.6Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox with a heel and toe shifter and is equipped with Honda Eco Technology (HET), which results in a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 62 kmpl. Other salient features of the bike include a fully digital instrument console, an H-shaped LED tail lamp and rear mono shock. There are four color options for the CB Unicorn 160, namely Imperial Red Metallic, Pearl Black, Grey Metallic and Sunbeam White.
Honda will start dispatching the bike to the dealerships in the forthcoming days, with the sales of the bike commencing from January 2015. The CB Unicorn 160 will be pitched between the existing 150cc offerings from Honda, CB Unicorn and CB Trigger, and will compete with TVS Apache RTR160, Hero Xtreme, Yamaha FZ, Suzuki Gixxer and the upcoming new Bajaj Pulsar 150 in the entry-level 150cc motorcycle segment.
