Kumar Vishwas is a poet by profession who entered active politics after the formation of Aam Aadmi Party in 2012. He is now the national executive of the party. He was also a part of the anti-corruption movement led by activist Anna Hazare. Vishwas contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and took on the Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi but suffered a loss. He has also been a controversial figure and was attacked by his political opponents when his video tape went viral which showed him insulting the Hindu gods and goddesses and Imam Hussain. He was also a part of the sting operation which alleged that various AAP leaders including Vishwas had taken donations through wrong means. Kumar, however, continues to enjoy a strong position in Aam Aadmi Party and is popular for his good oratory skills.
