Choudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser is a political leader from Bihar and a member of the Rashtriya Lok Janashakti Party. He is the current Member of Parliament from the Khagaria Lok Sabha seat of Bihar. He was born on May 13, 1958, in Saharsa, Bihar, and is the son of the former cabinet minister of Bihar, Late Choudhary Salahuddin.
The Indian National Congress (INC), which dominated Bihar politics for a long time, is where he started his political career. He represented the Simri-Bakhtiarpur seat as a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for three terms. He also held Cabinet Minister posts in the Bihar government during this period, when he was in charge of departments including Higher Education and Science and Technology.
After the Indian National Congress refused to give him a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections in 2014, he made a big decision and joined the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). Though viewed as a risk at the time, this gambit paid off when he won the Khagaria constituency, thereby launching his career in national politics. Notably, he was one of the five MPs who voted for Pashupati Nath Paras to be the successor of Lok Janashakti Party after party founder Ram Vilas Paswan, which resulted in the party getting bifurcated into two parties, Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party and Lok Janashakti Party (Ram Vilas).
