Four militants and one Army man were killed in a night-long encounter at Vilgam in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Officials said that the Army and Special Operation Group of Police had launched an operation at Shalwari forests in Vilgam.

The encounter continued throughout the night and, in the morning, special forces of the Army were also called. A senior police officer said that four militants have been killed so far. However only two bodies have been recovered from the encounter site. The operation is still in progress. Officials said that an army personnel also got killed in the encounter.

This is the second encounter in North Kashmir since Wednesday. A militant and an Army man were killed at Ladoora village yesterday.
