Same Sex Marriage: A five-judge Constitution Bench, led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, made a unanimous decision on Tuesday, October 17, rejecting the recognition of same-sex marriages. The Bench, which included Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Ravindra Bhat, Hima Kohli, and PS Narasimha, delivered a 3-2 majority verdict, denying the legalization of civil unions for non-heterosexual couples as well.
