Sri Sri Event: What Transpired On Day 1

At 2 pm Friday, standing still in the scorching sun, octogenarian Ram Nagina, a vegetable farmer from the Yamuna floodplains, held on to his walking stick near the railing that separated the 1,200-feet stage at the World Culture Festival (WCF) from the audience enclosure. “This is a big event happening in our country so I thought I should come and see it. I can’t see very well after sunset,” the bespectacled man said as he watched dancers rehearse. Nagina was lucky to have escaped the heavy showers that followed later in the day and turned the WCF venue into a swamp. See more
