India is new engine of global growth: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed the US-India Business Council (USIBC) in Washington DC, said India is poised to contribute as a new engine of global growth. He lauded India saying that it is a reliable partner, a source of high-quality scientific, engineering and managerial talent and a testimony that democracy and rapid growth could co-exist. PM Modi even praised the role of diaspora, saying that Indian-Americans are powerful cementing force in growing economic and cultural ties. He added that clear performance measures, adequate capital, interference in banking decisions have ended and new appointments were in place. PM Modi also outlined his vision for the future continuing sound macro-economic policies, combined with inclusive growth and expanding reforms. The Prime Minister further said that changed policies have allowed women in combat roles. PM Modi concluded by saying that a partnership between American capital and innovation, and Indian human resources and entrepreneurship could be very powerful.
