16 C-295 Military Aircraft Lands In India As Tata Set To Power Massive Military Makeover

India received the final unit of 16 Airbus C-295 transport aircraft from Spain, completing the first phase of a major defense deal. These tactical aircraft, with 5–10 tonne capacity and 11-hour endurance, are set to replace the Indian Air Force’s outdated Avro fleet. The final delivery was accepted in Seville by Ambassador Dinesh K Patnaik and IAF officials. India signed a 2021 deal for 56 C-295s — 16 from Spain and 40 to be built in India by Tata Advanced Systems, marking a big boost for indigenous defense manufacturing.
