Putin Says India Will Never Bow To US Over Russian Crude Imports | Trump | Modi | India-US

Russian President Vladimir Putin has strongly criticized the United States for attempting to pressure India into halting its import of Russian crude oil. Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi, Putin praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “balanced and wise leader” and reaffirmed the “special” relationship between Moscow and New Delhi. He described India’s purchase of Russian crude as purely an economic decision, warning that refusing Russian energy would not reduce losses due to US sanctions but could bring domestic political costs. Putin stressed that the Indian leadership and its people would never allow any humiliation in front of external powers. His remarks come after the US imposed additional tariffs on India for continuing its Russian oil imports and following President Trump’s UN General Assembly speech accusing India and China of funding the Ukraine war.
