Massive 6.7 Quake Rocks Indonesia’s Papua — Tremors Felt Across the Region!

A powerful 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia’s Papua province on Thursday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed. The quake, centered 70 km deep and 200 km from Abepura, shook the region but no tsunami warning was issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. Authorities reported no casualties or major damage so far. This comes just weeks after Papua was hit by a 6.1 quake, and only days after a 7.4-magnitude quake in the Philippines triggered tsunami fears across Southeast Asia.
