US Secretary of State Rubio:Gaza Ceasefire Force Must Include Countries Israel Trusts,Hamas Excluded

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Israel on Thursday to push forward President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, following Vice President JD Vance’s recent visit. Speaking on Friday, Rubio said any international security force in Gaza under the ceasefire agreement must include countries that Israel is “comfortable with.” He emphasized that the future governance of Gaza is still a work in progress, adding that Hamas cannot have any role in the new administration of the territory. The potential involvement of the Palestinian Authority has yet to be finalized. Rubio’s remarks underline the delicate balancing act the U.S. faces in implementing the Gaza ceasefire—ensuring Israel’s security while creating a neutral, internationally-backed force to maintain peace and stability in the region. His visit marks the next critical step in Washington’s efforts to translate the ceasefire into lasting agreements and regional stability.
