Netanyahu: Israel Takes Full Responsibility for Hamas Strikes in Qatar, Rubio Pledges U.S. Support

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel takes “full responsibility” for the strikes targeting Hamas leaders in Doha, Qatar, adding that final reports on the operation are still being assessed. At a joint press conference in Jerusalem with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Netanyahu said Rubio’s visit sent a clear message that America stands firmly with Israel. Rubio pledged “unwavering U.S. support” for Israel’s mission to eliminate Hamas, stating: “Hamas needs to cease to exist as an armed element that threatens regional peace.” He also warned that the U.S. will maintain pressure on Iran, Hamas’ key backer, until it “changes course.” The development comes as tensions between Israel, the U.S., and Middle Eastern allies escalate following the strikes in Qatar. Both leaders underscored that their countries would continue working side by side to ensure regional security and stability.
