Samsung's QLED branded TVs debuted in the year 2017. They were based on Quantum Dot technology, which helped deliver richer blacks and brighter whites with 100 percent colour volume (for better colour accuracy). The TVs boasted of a slim, sleek and premium metal body with a bezel-less display design. The televisions were equipped with a no-gap wall-mount solution that made the QLED TVs sit "absolutely flush with the wall."
In 2018, the company took the wraps off its new set of QLED TVs with Q HDR Elite, which was Samsung's new HDR10+ technology for offering better brightness and contrasts. The TVs were introduced with minimalistic design and the 'One Invisible Connection' feature. The latter is basically a single wall-mounted TV cable that carries A/V and power from your TV to the Samsung QLED One Connect Box. This keeps things neat and tidy by letting you plug in all your external devices in one place.
In 2019, Samsung introduced the world's first QLED 8K TV in India. The television supported 8K resolution, 8K AI Upscaling, Quantum Processor 8K, and Quantum HDR to offer an immersive viewing experience to users. The QLED TV was able to transform SD, FHD or UHD content in 8K with improved brightness, enhanced sound and better overall output. The TVs ship with Bixby and offer voice assistant capabilities right out of the box, so that you can control them using your voice. Samsung also introduced an ambient mode, which lets the TV display art or photographs when the TV isn't in use. The feature allows people to use the TV as a large photo frame.
Last year, Samsung introduced its QLED 8K 2020 TVs with features like Infinity Screen, Adaptive Picture, Active Voice Amplifier, Q-Symphony and Object Tracking Sound+. The televisions offer a nearly 99 percent screen-to-body ratio. The rest of the features were similar to the 2019 QLED TVs. So, the 2020 QLED 8K TVs also have 8K AI Upscaling, Quantum Processor and Quantum HDR.
This year, Samsung showcased its latest Neo QLED TV at a pre-CES 2021 virtual event. It comes with support for Quantum Matrix Technology Pro, which is said to offer better contrast levels and details. The new generation QLED TV series is equipped with Mini LED technology that negates blooming in the picture. It is powered by Samsung's Neo Quantum processor for enhanced visual details. The televisions boast of a bezel-less and slim design. It supports an attachable cable management system, which Samsung is calling Slim One Connect box. The 2021 QLED Samsung TVs even offer a SpaceFit Sound feature for immersive sound based on the TV's physical environment.
