Rohit Sharma produced yet another astonishing century as he guided India to an 88-run victory over Sri Lanka in the second T20I in Indore. Meanwhile, boxer Vijender Singh maintained his unbeaten run in Pro Boxing with a win over Ernest Amuzu. Given the opportunity to lead team India in Virat Kohli's absence, opener Rohit Sharma led from the front against Sri Lanka. After scoring his third ODI double hundred, Rohit went on to slam the joint-fastest century in the T20I format in just 35 balls. India concluded their 2017 season with victories over Sri Lanka in the ODI and T20 format. In the absence of Virat Kohli, team India continued their sublime form as they outclassed Sri Lanka in both ODIs and T20Is, winning the series 2-1 and 3-0 respectively. This was after Australia won the third Test by an innings and 41 runs to take a 3-0 unassailable lead in the series. Vijender Singh continued his victory march after winning his 10th successive pro boxing fight. The 32-year old boxer defended his WBO Oriental and Asia Pacific Super middleweight titles against African champion Ernest Amuzu. Vijender defeated his opponent by a unanimous decision to retain his titles.
Goals by Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Alex Vidal helped Barcelona rout Real Madrid by 3-0 to take a 14 point lead over their rivals in La Liga. With the win at Bernabeu, Barcelona dashed Real Madrid's hopes of winning the La Liga title. In a match which was evenly poised in the first half, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo missed good chances as the hosts were blown away in the second half with goals by the trio of Suarez, Messi and Vidal.
