Cyclone Hudhud hits the states of Orrisa and Andhra Pradesh on Sunday (October 12) leaving behind a trail of destruction as it ripped through the coastal cities, causing damage to crops and buildings.

According to Andhra Pradesh's Revenue (Disaster Management) Department, a total of 2,48,004 people were affected by Hudhud, which also damaged 70 houses and left 34 animals dead.

The Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa decalerd that nearly 90,000 people have been shifted to relief camps in four cyclone Hudhud-hit districts.

Lakhs of trees were uprooted, blocking traffic on important national and state highways, as well as city roads in Visakhapatnam. The winds and rain caused severe damage to roads as well between Kakinada and Uppada Kothapalli village, Andhra Pradesh. (Source: PTI)
In a statement, the India Meteorological Department said the cyclone had lost its intensity by evening as it moved further 60 km northwest of Visakhapatnam.
