The Day 2 of India Couture Week 2018, which began on July 25 saw veteran designer Pallavi Jaikishan recreating old classic designs to suit the modern day bride. Jaikishan used the two-decade old Chakra design for her latest collection titled 'Nostalgia'. She incorporated her signature flower motifs and presented it in a contemporary avatar. She incorporated floral embroidery in the form of French knots on saris and added many new elements that gave it a fresh look. For her collection, she used a variety of colours ranging from dove blue, old rose, silver oyster with a touch of pink, cranberry reds, whites, blacks and hues of mustard. Saris and lehenga with heavy gold and silver work were one of the most noticeably features in her collection. (Source: APH Images)
The fabrics used included tulle, georgette and satins. The highlight of the designs were a stunning translucent fabric that had glass work on it, which made for a great fusion of traditional and contemporary fashion. (Source: APH Images)
Jaikishan also brought back old designs like the Kabja, which was worn on blouses and teamed with lehengas and saris. While the designs were traditional, the semi-sheer saris gave it a modern vibe. (Source: APH Images)
Golds and pastels were another prominent feature in her designs. Beautiful pleated lines on French and Italian brocade lehengas combined with embroidered dupattas and blouses were also part of the collection. (Source: APH Images)

The colour palate also included metallic tones in various shades of gold and silver. The restored chakra motif also featured in her collection.
