The who’s who of the Indian film industry met ace filmmaker Christopher Nolan who was in Mumbai for the Reframing the Future of Film event. At the event, the Dunkirk director, along with Tacita Dean and Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, spoke about preserving celluloid in the digital age. Amitabh Bachchan, who met Nolan, seems to agree with what the Hollywood director had to say.
Amitabh Bachchan, agreeing with Christopher Nolan's point of view on films, wrote on his blog, "the word film has suddenly lost its charm ; for there does not seem to be any need to shoot films on film .. its all digital now. It was known as the ‘film industry’ , they were known as ‘film stars’ .. so in the complete absence of that medium and that product , it would be quite in order to call ourselves ‘robotic genes’ or words of similar sound .. ‘digi act’ .. or ‘digi digi’ .. what ever .. it would be an issue that would need consideration."
Apart from Big B, the event saw the presence of Kamal Haasan and Shah Rukh Khan too.
The photographers caught Amitabh and SRK sharing a candid moment as they were leaving the venue.
Big B was also seen chatting with actor-politician Kamal Haasan.
Kamal Haasan shared a picture with Christopher Nolan. He wrote, "Met Mr.Christopher Nolan. Apologized for seeing Dunkirk in the digital format and in return am sending Hey Ram in digital format for him to see. Was surprised to know he had seen Paapanaasam. 😊"
Shah Rukh shared his fan moment on Twitter. He tweeted, "My Fanboy moment. Inspiring to hear Mr.Nolan & Ms.Tacita Dean talk of the virtues of celluloid as an artist’s medium. Thanks #ShiviDungarpur for having me over."
