Ben Affleck, Argo: One of the biggest and most-talked about Oscar snubs is Ben Affleck who didn's get a nod for his directorial venture 'Argo' that grabbed headlines the world over. Though the film went on to win the Oscar for Best Picture at the 86th Academy Awards, Ben Affleck wasn’t even nominated for Best Director.
Audrey Hepburn, My Fair Lady: Next, we go back in time to 1964, when actress Audrey Hepburn failed to land a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Eliza Doolittle in classic, ‘My Fair Lady’. What was even more shocking was when Audrey Hepburn lost out the Best Actress Oscar for her role in Breakfast at Tiffany's in 1961.
Kathryn Bigelow: Another gritty film that was received with great attention was Kathryn Bigelow's 'Zero dark Thirty'. However, the director received no Oscar acknowledgment for her 2012 film that chronicled the decade-long search for al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

Pulp Fiction: Back in 1994, another of Quentin Tarantino's flicks, ‘Pulp Fiction’ starring Uma Thurman, John Travolta and Samuel Jackson also missed out on an Oscar win. “Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Shawshank Redemption’ lost out to ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks.
Leonardo DiCaprio: One of the most famously snubbed actors at the Academy Awards is none other than Leonardo DiCaprio. His portrayal of Jack Dawson in the 1997 blockbuster 'Titanic' failed to get him an Oscar nomination, while his co-star did manage a nomination, but no award. When Leonardo was nominated for the first time in 1993 for 'What’s Eating Gilbert Grape', the actor lost out to Tommy Lee Jones for ‘The Fugitive’.
Brokeback Mountain: Ang Lee’s ‘Brokeback Mountain’ suffered a big loss at the Oscars when it failed to bring home the award, losing it to Paul Haggis' 'Crash' for Best Picture. The film starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger won for Best Director and Best Adapted.
