As we gear up for everything new this 2015, we take a look at some of the exciting never-seen-onscreen-before, couples who are bound to make things crackle with their chemistry this year.
Deepika Padukone – Irrfan Khan: Shoojit Sircar’s upcoming film, ‘Piku’ will have Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Irrfan Khan will romance the ‘Finding Fanny’ beauty in the film and is said to have a substantial part. However, not much is known about his role.
Katrina Kaif – Saif Ali Khan: Kabir Khan’s counter-terrorist drama ‘Phantom’ will have Katrina Kaif and Saif Ali Khan playing secret agents in the film. The film, which is supposedly about post-26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, has been shot in parts of Lebanon, Jammu & Kashmir and Turkey. It is slated to release in April 2015.
Shahid Kapoor – Alia Bhatt: Probably going to be one of Bolllywood’s cutest pairs, Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will romance each other in destination wedding film, ‘Shaandaar’. The duo seemed to have had a ball shooting together in Leeds and other locations along with Shahid’s father, Pankaj Kapur, who is also a part of the Vikas Bahl-directed movie.
Aditya Roy Kapur – Katrina Kaif: While Aditya will play the role of a young artist, Noor, Katrina will be seen dawning the role of a heart breaker in love saga, ‘Fitoor’. The film is an adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel, ‘Great Expectations’.
Dhanush – Akshara Haasan: National Award winning actor Dhanush and Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter Akshara will be paired together in R. Balki’s upcoming film, ‘Shamitabh’ with megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The film is scheduled to release on February 6, 2015.
Ajay Devgn – Sayesha: Bollywood’s very own Singham will be seen opposite Sayesha, who is the grandniece of veteran actors Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu. Titled ‘Shivaay’, the film will have Ajay Devgn producing, directing and starring in the ambitious project that will go on floors this month.
Kangana Ranaut – Irrfan Khan: These two great Bollywood talents will share screen space in Indo-French production, ‘Divine Lovers’. Directed by Sai Kabir of ‘Revolver Rani’ fame, ‘Divine Lovers’ will be a complete contrast to Revolver Rani, and will not be loud, aggressive and violent.
Shah Rukh Khan – Mahira Khan: The Pakistani beauty will make her Bollywood debut opposite Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Raees’. The film will go on floors in February 2015 and will be shot in Mumbai and rural areas of Gujarat.
Sonam Kapoor – Rajkummar Rao: The National-award winning actor will be seen as one of the suitors in Abhishek Dogra’s ‘Dolly Ki Doli’, where he will be vying for the hand of the bride, Sonam Kapoor. The Arbaaz Khan production is scheduled to release by January 23, 2015.
Hrithik Roshan - Pooja Hegde: Greek God Hritik Roshan will be seen romancing second runner-up at the Miss Universe India 2010, Pooja Hegde in Ashutosh Gowariker’s production, ‘Mohenjo Daro’, which is a love story set in the Indus Valley.
