It was a wedding straight out of a fairy tale. Malayalam singer Gayatri Asokan got married to noted sitar player and composer Purbayan Chatterjee in a traditional Kerala wedding. The ceremonies took place at Paramekkavu Temple in Thrissur. Purbayan Chatterjee, despite being a Bengali, chose a Kerala wedding, as Gayatri Asokan belongs to Thrissur. Chatterjee, on the other hand, is a recipient of the President of India Award, which he received at the age of 15. From Queen Elizabeth Hall in London to Sydney’s Opera House, Adelaide Festival Centre and Salle Gaveau in Paris, the 40-year-old has performed at several global venues.
