Bobby Jasoos: We eagerly waited for Vidya Balan's return to the Big Screen in a new avatar of a female detective in Dia Mirza's production 'Bobby Jasoos' along with 'Fukrey' actor Ali Fazal. Vidya hit the right chord with fans with her 12 avatars but the film was a major letdown in terms of the story.
Lekar Hum Deewana Dil: Raj Kapoor's grandson Armaan Jain had not only his entire Kapoor Khandaan supporting and promoting him but also had Bollywood biggies Shah Rukh Khan and Rekha attend the grand premiere of his debut rom-com flick. But, unfortunately the film is said to be struggling at the Box Office.
Jai Ho: It was a while since Bollywood superstar Salman Khan tasted failure. But that's exactly what came his way after a long strong of hits at the Box office. The actor took a chance when he decided to go for a non-festive release with 'Jai Ho'. Though the film had a decent opening especially in cities like Lucknow, Rajasthan and Jodhpur, its numbers came nowhere close to a Salman Khan flick.
Gulaab Gang/Dedh Ishqiya: Fans and the media alike held their breath while they waited patiently to see 'Dhak Dhak girl' Madhuri Dixit enchant us on screen once more. While 'Dedh Ishqiya' had a slow opening, it later picked up and was still declared an average performer. However, 'Gulaab Gang' also starring Juhi Chawla was a huge disappointment. Though the actress was praised for her performance, the film failed miserably.
Revolver Rani : After her brilliant performance in 'Queen', Kangana Ranaut definitely had the attention of critics and fans. However, Sai Kabir's 'Revolver Rani', which was a satirical love story against the backdrop of politics, had a very poor run at the Box Office. Kangana's fans were disappointed with the actress' avatar onscreen.
Shaadi Ke Side Effects/Ghanchakkar: Leaving aside this year's disappointment, Vidya Balan had two releases last year. 'Ghanchakkar' saw her team up onscreen with her 'The Dirty Picture' co-star Emraan Hashmi. But their magic failed to work and the film was a flop.
But 'Shaadi Ke Side Effects' released in January this year saw Vidya romance the very talented Farhan Akhtar onscreen. Though it tanked domestically, 'Shaadi Ke Side Effects' was a hit abroad.
Besharam: There was much hype about Ranbir Kapoor joining his parents and veterans actors - Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh on the silver screen in 'Besharam' . However, not only did the film receive negative reviews but was also declared a flop just four days after it screens. Ranbir Kapoor, Rishi apologised to their fans for doing 'Besharam.'
Zanjeer: A remake of the 1973 Hindi film of the same name, 'Zanjeer' was on everybody's minds since the day it was announced. Starring Priyanka Chopra and marking the debut of Tollywood actor Ram Charan Teja, 'Zanjeer' received mostly negative reviews, tanking at the Box office.
Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbaai Dobaara!: Fans were eager to see chocolate boy Imran Khan play an onscreen gangster romancing the beautiful Sonakshi Sinha along with Akshay Kumar. Though it had a good opening, its performance at the Box Office suffered mostly due to Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Chennai Express' and bad storyline. The movie was hurt badly due to the poor word of mouth.
Satyagraha: Not only was 'Satyagraha' widely promoted but also boasted of a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Amrit Rao. Despite having been directed by award winning director Prakash Jha, the movie failed to click with the audience. The movie received mixed reviews and had a moderate opening.
Bullett Raja: Tigmanshu Dhulia ventured into out and out commerical cinema with 'Bullett Raja'. With Saif Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Shergill and Chunky Pandey among others, the movie was also anticipated to be a sure Box office winner.
