Alagappa University, a public university based in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu and Mahatma Gandhi University nestled in the beautiful Priyadarshini Hills in Kottayam, Kerala secured the third position among Indian institutions. There are 13 colleges in the rank bracket of 601 to 800. The IITs are not willing to relent unless the ranking agency is more “transparent” about its assessment parameters. A spokesperson with THE said that the organisation held talks with the “IITs (and other institutions) on several occasions and continue to welcome discussions with them” on ironing out the differences.
