The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) declared the state class 12 or higher secondary examination results on Thursday, June 25. The exams were conducted between February 12 and March 14 and the evaluation was completed last month.

The state recorded 78.28 passing percentage in the AHSEC exams, with girls outperforming the boys.

Out of the 91,520 female students, 74,543 cleared the exams and the passing percentage was recorded to be above 80. Meanwhile, 76,847 male candidates appeared in the exams and out of which 57,254 cleared the exams.

Around 2.34 lakh candidates had appeared for the class 12 exams.

A total of 30,697 students had registered for the Meghalaya Board HSSLC exams this year.

The students will get their mark sheets once the lockdown is lifted. According to the council, the hard copy of the mark sheets will be delivered to schools, and students may collect from their respective institutes.

The state had recorded a passing percentage of 60.23 in the previous year.

Last year, Commerce stream students had the best pass percentage of 87.59 per cent followed by Science where the pass percentage was 86.59 per cent and Arts students had the least pass percentage at 75.14 per cent.
