Puerto Rico boy death: Father charged with illegal possession of machine gun

Officials said Friday that police found the weapon and a conversion device in a bag left at the hotel along with sixteen rounds of ammunition, among other things.

The father of a 10-year-old-boy recently killed by unknown suspects at a well-known hotel in Puerto Rico has been charged with illegal possession of a machine gun.

The US Attorney’s Office identified the man as Jose Romero Bonilla. He and another man were seriously injured in the July 4 shooting at the pool of the Hotel Caribe Hilton in San Juan.

No one has been charged with the actual shooting that scattered tourists and locals alike.
