Trump picks congresswoman Lori Chavez-Deremer to be labor secretary

President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Representative Lori Chavez-DeRemer of Oregon as his labor secretary.

Trump praised Chavez-DeRemer for her tireless efforts in working with businesses and labor unions to strengthen the US workforce and support Americans.

Chavez-DeRemer, who was elected to Congress in 2022, recently lost her re-election bid to Democrat Janelle Bynum.

Despite this, Trump is confident in her abilities, stating that he looks forward to working with her to create opportunities for American workers, expand training programs, and improve working conditions.
