A Russian drone struck a multi-story residential building in Kyiv on Friday evening, causing a fire on the upper floors that resulted in the deaths of two people and left 10 others injured, according to officials, as reported by Reuters.

Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, reported that over 100 residents were evacuated from a high-rise in the Solomyanskyi district, located just west of the city centre. Injured individuals received treatment on-site, with ambulances stationed nearby.

“Several apartments between the 17th and 21st floors sustained damage in the building within Solomyanskyi district,” Popko wrote on the Telegram messaging app. “Flames were visible in flats on the 20th floor.”
