A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck Indonesia’s West Papua region on Tuesday, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said, revising its earlier estimate of 6.1.
The quake hit at a depth of 17 km (10.56 miles). The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said that the region had no threat of a tsunami after being hit by the earthquake.
