Former US President Bill Clinton hospitalised after developing fever

Former US President Bill Clinton was admitted to a hospital in Washington DC on Monday afternoon after developing a fever, where he is undergoing tests and observation, an aide said in a statement.

Clinton, 78, was at his home when he was brought to the Medstar Georgetown University Hospital situated in Washington DC on Monday.

“President Clinton was admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital this afternoon for testing and observation after developing a fever,” wrote Angel Ureña, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff on X.


Angel further added, “He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.”

Clinton had been active during the campaign trail of the US presidential election and campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris though she eventually lost the race to President-elect Donald Trump.

Clinton released his book last month titled ‘Citizen: My Life After the White House’ which deals with his life after his presidency.

Clinton was hospitalized in 2021 in Southern California for an infection which had reached his bloodstream but was released six days later, reported CBS News.

According to an NBC News report, Clinton underwent a quadruple bypass heart surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in 2004 while in 2010, two stents were inserted to open an artery.
