World’s richest person Elon Musk is on track to become the first trillionaire in the world by 2027, according to a report by Informa Connect Academy which tracks wealth.
Musk, who is the boss of electric car manufacturing company Tesla, private rocket company SpaceX and social media platform X (formerly Twitter), has seen his wealth growing at an average annual rate of 110%, according to the academy.
Musk remains at the pinnacle of the world’s rich list with $237 billion net worth according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The report also adds that the second entrepreneur to hit trillionaire status would be India’s businessman Gautam Adani.
Industrial conglomerate Adani Group’s founder and chairman Gautam Adani’s wealth has been growing at an average annual rate of 123% and if it remains at this pace for some more years, then Adani would be the second entrant in the trillionaire list by 2028.
Till now, only eight companies in the world have been able to top the trillion dollar market capitalization which includes Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, Alphabet, Amazon, Saudi Aramco, Meta and the latest entrant, Warren Buffet headed Berkshire Hathaway.
The surprise entry at the third number in the list of to be trillionaires is the CEO of chip and semiconductor giant Nvidia, Jensen Huang. He is ranked 18th in the world rich list and has a net worth of over $90 billion.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also features in the list with the report indicating that it would take another six years, until 2030 when Zuckerberg would touch the trillionaire list.
Meanwhile, Musk has recently announced his support for former President Donald Trump in the upcoming US presidential elections in November and it would be interesting to watch the classic contest as the world’s richest person has sided with Republicans.
