We are looking for you: Trump says those ‘sabotaging’ Tesla cars may face up to 20 years in jail

Since Tesla CEO Elon Musk took over as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the company's dealerships, charging stations, and vehicles have been vandalised.

United States President Donald Trump Friday warned that those caught sabotaging vehicles manufactured by Elon Musk’s Tesla could face up to 20 years in prison. The statement comes after the string of attacks on Tesla cars in recent months.

“People that get caught sabotaging Tesla’s will stand a very good chance of going to jail for up to twenty years, and that includes the funders. WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!!!” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

Trump’s statement follows US Attorney General Pam Bondi’s remarks condemning a fire at a Tesla property as “nothing short of domestic terrorism.” The blaze damaged five vehicles at a Tesla Collision Center in Las Vegas on Tuesday. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the incident was the latest in a series of attacks targeting Tesla.

“The swarm of violent attacks on Tesla property is nothing short of domestic terrorism,” Bondi said. “The Department of Justice has already charged several perpetrators with that in mind, including in cases that involve charges with five-year mandatory minimum sentences,” she said.

Bondi further said that investigations into the incidents will continue, imposing “severe consequences on those involved in these attacks, including those operating behind the scenes to coordinate and fund these crimes.”

While no injuries have been reported in these attacks so far, the White House has thrown its weight behind Musk and his company.

Musk has claimed that some of these attacks were orchestrated by “left-wing billionaires.” Condemning the incidents as “insane and deeply wrong,” the Tesla CEO stated that his company was being unfairly targeted.

“Tesla just makes electric cars and has done nothing to deserve these evil attacks,” he wrote in a post on X.

Since Musk took over as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the US administration, Tesla dealerships, charging stations, and vehicles have been vandalised, along with protests against the automotive.
