If you are an entertainment buff and often run out of new movies or web series to watch, JioCinema Premium can come to your rescue. Unlike Netflix or Prime Video, which costs at least Rs 100 a month, JioCinema Premium is priced at Rs 25 a month. It is the most affordable OTT platform in the country offering regional and international content with up to 4K resolution.
JioCinema can be accessed on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smart TVs, and the best part about this subscription is that it offers an ad-free user experience, except for live sports and exclusive content from major international studios like Peacock, HBO, Nick, and a few others.
With the Rs 25 subscription, however, a user can access Premium content only on a single device. The family subscription priced at Rs 89 a month allows users to access JioCinema Premium on up to four devices at once and is best meant for families with members who would like to consume content they like on separate devices.
Jio, for a brief period, also introduced an annual Premium subscription plan priced at Rs 299.
Unlike an entry-level plan on Netflix or Prime Video, which limits the video resolution to 720p or even 480p, JioCinema Premium has only a single subscription tier much cheaper than the competition. Plus, there is no cap on video-streaming resolution. Users with a fast internet connection can stream the latest movies and TV shows in 4K resolution on smart TVs.
Do note that the company includes a basic subscription to ad-supported JioCinema with every Jio SIM card, but to unlock the full potential of the platform, one needs to subscribe to the premium tier.
JioCinema Premium is currently the only OTT platform that offers access to critically acclaimed content like Game of Thrones, Law & Order, and it also includes the latest Hollywood blockbusters like Furiosa, Godzilla x King, Dune, Oppenheimer, and more.
Unlike Netflix that does not allow users to sign up for its service through its Android or iOS app, one can subscribe to JioCinema Premium from their Android or iOS devices. Users can also sign up for the same from any web browser. However, to sign up for JioCinema Premium, one will need an active phone number, which doesn’t necessarily have to be a Jio phone number. The payment can be made using a credit, debit card, or UPI.
Click on the Go Premium banner on top of the Jio Cinema app or website and complete the payment to sign up for JioCinema Premium.
Android and iOS users can also set up auto-pay, where the service will automatically renew every month.
