Microsoft has rolled out its latest system update for Xbox One and the Xbox app. Cortana is now integrated in Xbox One. Background Music can now be played through music apps like Pandora.

“We’re bringing the most played PC games to Xbox Live with their own Game Hubs and we’re starting to combine the best of the Xbox Store and Windows Store for a single cohesive experience across devices. And of course, these updates will be available on the new, highly-anticipated, Xbox One S when the 2TB launch edition becomes available on August 2 for $399,” said Mike Ybarra, Head of Platform Engineering, in a post on Xbox’s website. This update will be ready for the 500GB and 1TB Xbox One S models later in the month.

Here are some of the top upgrades-

Addressing a highly requested feature of Background Music, Xbox’s new update lets you listen to your favorite music in the background while playing on the Xbox One. To start with Xbox will support background music using Pandora, but will eventually support Groove Music, iHeartRadio and among other apps.

Xbox One users in US and UK now have Cortana integrated with their console. Using Cortana, gamers can give voice commands on the Xbox. Cortana provides the ability to use a headset or Kinect. Cortana will help you find new games, start a party, see what your friends are up to, turn on your Xbox (if you use Kinect), accomplish common tasks, and more.

Xbox One’s updated Game Collection interface makes it faster and easier to find and launch the games. The update will allow you to connect your Facebook account to your Xbox Live account to find your Xbox playing Facebook Friends.

Update of the Windows Store will add support for gamers to purchase season passes, episodic games, virtual currency, purchase bundles and buy DLCs. A user will also be able to redeem Xbox token, games, DLC or subscriptions through the Windows Store. Xbox Play will be available everywhere with integration of the store, making cross platform gaming between the Xbox One and Windows 10 possible at not extra cost.

A player can now record gameplay at 60 fps with the help of Game Bar, using the new “Very High” video quality setting in the Xbox app. Other addition features include Language Region Independence.
