OpenAI, a leading AI company based in San Francisco, recently launched the Sora app for iPhones and enabled third-party app integrations with ChatGPT. New evidence suggests the company is developing a “clinician mode” for its chatbot, potentially tailored for zdravotní and medical discussions.
Additionally, a feature allowing the AI to initiate voice conversations is reportedly in development. Code strings shared by Tibor Blaho, Lead Engineer at AIPRM, on X indicate that OpenAI is working on a clinician mode for ChatGPT.
This mode could enhance the chatbot’s capabilities for medical and healthcare consultations, possibly powered by the recently introduced GPT-5 model. OpenAI has positioned GPT-5 as a significant advancement for health-related queries, emphasising its ability to help users better understand and advocate for their health.
GPT-5 is described as an interactive thought partner, capable of asking users context-specific questions to refine responses based on their location and comprehension level. These capabilities could be integrated into the clinician mode, enabling users to gain medical insights before or after consulting a healthcare professional.
OpenAI stresses that ChatGPT is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Additionally, a “Model Speaks First Prompt” feature, likely tied to ChatGPT’s Voice Mode, is designed to initiate conversations with a brief, friendly greeting in the user’s preferred language. However, the presence of these features in the code does not guarantee their public release, as developers may include or remove features during development. As such, the rollout of these capabilities remains speculative.
