LG launches world’s largest 97-inch OLED AI smart TV in India

LG introduced its first set of AI-powered smart TV series in India. This includes the world’s largest OLED smart TV—-the LG OLED97G4—-a massive 97-inch 4K smart TV, powered by an in-house α11 AI Processor and webOS.

According to LG, these televisions are equipped with technologies like AI upscaling and AI Picture Pro, which uses AI to do pixel-level analysis to sharpen the images. LG is also using AI technologies to refine colours.

The latest range of AI-enabled smart TVs from LG ranges from 42 inches and goes all the way up to 97 inches. These models offer technologies like up to 4K resolution, 144Hz ultra-fast refresh rate, HDMI 2.1 port, and are also NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync certified, which doubles them as a gaming monitor.

Besides OLED models, LG has also announced a couple of smart TVs with QNED technology, which makes use of Quantum Dot and NanoCell technologies to deliver deeper blacks and rich contrast, which according to LG offer 20-bit accuracy. These televisions are also equipped with virtual 9.1.2 surround sound technology.

Other prominent features of the latest range of smart TVs from LG include up to five years of software support (webOS), Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision. These televisions are also compatible with wireless screen/content-sharing technologies like Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast.

The new AI TV range from LG starts from Rs 62,990 for the 43-inch QNED82T model, and the 65-inch LG QNED90T (Mini LED) costs Rs 1,89,990. Similarly, the most affordable OLED model with a 42-inch screen costs Rs 1,19,990 while the LG OLED evo G4 AI, a 55-inch model is priced at Rs 2,39,990.

The flagship LG OLED97G4 costs Rs 20,49,990.
