Now Idea Cellular launches unlimited voice calling to take on Jio, Airtel

Idea is now offering unlimited voice calling with new recharge packs in order to compete with Jio and Airtel.

Idea’s Rs 148 recharge will give customers free Local and STD Idea-to-Idea calls across India and 50MB of data

Idea Cellular has announced today that it is launching two monthly voice packs that will provide unlimited voice calling. Prepaid packs of Rs 148 and Rs 348 will provide customers unlimited local and STD voice calling, along with data benefits.

With the Rs 148 recharge customers will be able to make free Local and STD Idea-to-Idea calls across India and get 50MB of data. Customers with 4G handsets will get 300 MB of data in addition to voice benefit. The Rs 348 recharge offers free Local and STD calls across all networks in India along with 50MB of data. In the same pack, customers with 4G handsets will get 1 GB of data in addition to voice benefit. The validity of both packs is 28 days. Pricing of the packs will slightly differ in various network circles of Idea.

Launching the products, Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular said,” As people in India get into the holiday mode, they will tend to stay better connected with their loved ones. Providing them with seamless connectivity at an affordable price point, we have launched these exciting voice packs that enable Idea prepaid users to make unlimited voice calls across the country. We hope they make the best out of this proposition.”

Airtel earlier today had also announced unlimited voice calls and additional 4G data under a new plan. With a Rs 345 recharge, Airtel prepaid users will be able to make unlimited calls to any network and get 1GB of 4G data for 28 days, the carrier said in a statement.
