The video-communication service was down for more than 15,000 users as of 1.36 p.m. ET, according to the website, which tracks outages by collating status reports from multiple sources.

Google said the affected customers are experiencing slow user interface loads and are unable to join meet sessions. Its engineering team continues to investigate the issue.
