Ever since Elon Musk acquired Twitter back in October 2022, the microblogging platform has witnessed a tremendous amount of changes, and most of these modifications have sparked controversy among its users. Elon is now hinting that Twitter might soon cryptically undergo a major branding overhaul.
According to Elon’s latest tweet, which says, “And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds,” Twitter might soon move away from the brand name “Twitter,” and it could even get a new logo instead of the bluebird. This means that, while Twitter remains the same, it might soon go by a different name and identity.

Before Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion, the social media platform was a publicly listed company under the name Twitter, Inc. Currently, it’s a private company listed under X Corp, where Elon Musk is the CTO and chairman.
The new branding of Twitter is likely to be in line with the new parent company’s vision. Elon also referenced the branding “X” while introducing the new CEO Linda Yaccarino, which could be the new name of Twitter.
In another incident, Elon Musk briefly replaced the Twitter logo with the Dogecoin logo, which was again replaced by the iconic blue bird.
Besides advertising, Twitter is currently looking at strengthening parallel revenue sources, which includes the introduction of a Twitter Blue subscription. By limiting various features to paid users, Twitter is encouraging more users to onboard the subscription bandwagon to enjoy all the features of Twitter. One such move is the 20 direct message (DM) limit for non-blue users.
