Good news for all those who have been waiting to buy the USB-C variant of AirPods Pro. Apple has announced that now users will be able to buy the USB-C case as a standalone product.
This means users will now be able to use their existing Airpods with the new case and will no longer need to buy the entire set. However, the MagSafe-compatible case is currently priced at $99 (around Rs 8,350). This can be the moment for anyone who has been planning to shift their gadgets to the USB-C ecosystem.
Reportedly, the USB-C AirPods Pro cases will be available by Christmas. The USB-C AirPods Pro was released earlier this year during Apple’s September event when the Cupertino tech giant introduced its iPhone 15 line-up, which replaced the Lightning port with USB-C.
The new AirPods Pro is dust resistant and can handle splashes of water. The USB-C AirPods Pro also offers lossless audio wirelessly when used with the Apple Vision Pro headset, which is yet to be launched. It is to be noted that the USB-C standalone case is only available in the US right now and it may take some time for it to be available in India.
Apple has been sporting the lightning port ever since it was launched. USB-C charging has been made mandatory by the EU citing environmental reasons. It is a versatile connector that has become the standard for most gadgets.
