Earlier this year, Apple launched the Music Classical app that features more than 5 million tracks from celebrated masterpieces to new releases. Now, the app is available on Android and can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store.

To give you a quick recap, Apple Music Classical is designed to handle the complex metadata of classical music albums and recordings. Apple says the app can also help users understand various genres of music with ease and compared to Apple Music, offers additional information for each track like editorial notes, composer biographies, descriptions of key works and more.

Back in March when Apple launched the iOS version of the app, the company explained that classical tracks have multiple movements and tracks, with known tracks having different conductors, soloists and orchestras. With Apple Music Classical, users can search using keyword combinations like composer name, opus number, artists, instrument and more.

It also supports crossplay, something Apple has limited to the Mac. One thing to note here is that Apple launched the Android app before making it available on the iPad and Mac. Apple Music Classical can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and is free for those with an Apple Music subscription.
